The City of Yucaipa was incorporated in 1989 and is a mature, well-established community nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains. Yucaipa residents enjoy cleaner air and cooler temperatures as a result of the higher elevations.  A comprehensive approach to community safety has produced one of the lowest rates of crime for comparably sized cities anywhere in the State. 

The Yucaipa Police Department is responsible for law enforcement services to over 52,000 citizens living within the 27 square miles of the city of Yucaipa.
